The Product: Walled garden wallpaper in Plum
A richly-hued, plum wallpaper depicting espaliered fruit trees in the walled, kitchen garden of an Arts & Crafts country house in Sussex, England.
The paper was developed as part of a major refurbishment of the property. It is one of a number of designs from a collection created by hand-printed home furnishings studio Rapture & Wright. References to William Morris’s well-known trellis design abound. The paper pays homage to the Arts & Crafts heritage of the house. Espaliered fruit trees, in crisp white, silhouette form, provide a suitably contemporary botanical backdrop for a variety of room schemes. The design works in both classic and modern interiors. Set sleek-lined, powder-coated metal furniture from the likes of Bo Concept, or The Conran Shop against the leafy backdrop. Go ‘modern rustic’ with contemporary wooden furniture such as the Pinch Design collection or wood furniture ranges at Heals or Made.com. Alternatively, team with antique pieces in warm wood tones. Similarly, white-washed, vintage furniture for a more traditional feel. Moreover, mix up styles to create a unique, characterful space.
This leafy, plum wallpaper is hand-printed and comes untrimmed. It is available by the metre, at £26 per metre (minimum order 10 metres as 2 x 5 metre lengths).
