The Product: Palm print cushions in green
Stylised palm print cushions in green, redolent of traditional African wax prints but with a fresh, modern feel.
Designed by Eva Sonaike this print was inspired by specimens at the Aburi Botanical Gardens in Ghana, West Africa.
Undeniably, a hit for summer sofas and homes in sunnier climes especially teamed with a riot of brights. The bold, printed cotton design with paler velvet reverse would look particularly fabulous on a mid-century modern, tan, leather sofa or buttoned Chesterfield. Indeed the cushion design itself has its own retro vibe and feels a little like a mid-century modern cushion. Try Vinterior for retro Scandinavian and vintage sofas.
We also rather like the idea of juxtaposing these bold, purple palm cushions with cosy, chunky-knit throws and cushions in a palette of winter whites too. A design for all seasons.
Never feel you must dress your sofa with scatter cushions to match the upholstery. Often, these are optional add-ons when buying a new sofa. Always, create an original look. Furthermore, assemble your own ‘cast of cushions’. Buy from different fabric houses. Create an ideal comfort level.
