This beauty began its journey up in steamy Chiangmai, on a winding, rural road just south of the city. Step into the family-owned pottery – they’ve been crafting and decorating all manner of Thai ceramics for generations – and you’re greeted with an endless spectrum of decorative pots, canisters, vases, urns and candlesticks in vivid blues, aquas, pea greens and inky indigo.
We spotted this super-sized pot the moment we stepped into the workshop: the traditional Thai Lotus flower or ‘Bua’ pattern and elegant sage green and black colouring make for a statement piece. Back home from the tropics we’d place this pot (or ideally group few of varying sizes) around a super-sleek freestanding bath in a modern bathroom. Or, display in floor-to-ceiling modern, open shelving. Or, sit atop a sturdy rustic armoire or sideboard for eclectic impact.
The pot measures approximately 44cm tall x 25cm diameter.
