This little, ceramic perfume bottle would have looked peachy on Marie-Antoinette’s dressing table. The decorative, scalloped stopper with it’s gold edging makes us think of French Louis XV style – all gilt chandeliers, cabriole-legs and decadent living.
We picked it up at vintage market (although it’s not at all old!), but it has a charm all of it’s own. Let’s be brutally honest – no-one decants perfume – especially if your go-to brand is Chanel or some such. But hey-ho! It looks pretty.
Best would be to juxtapose decorative with sleek (by that we mean ‘clash’ styles) and pop this pretty accessory on a slick, clean-lined, modern dressing table from a smart, contemporary furniture retailer such as Habitat or Heals.
