The Product: Patterned lampshade in cinnamon and teal hand-printed ‘Iznik’ linen
An elegant, patterned lampshade in warm, cinnamon brown and baby blue. Accent a neutral room, use to layer pattern or as inspiration for a chic, sophisticated colour scheme.
The Lowdown
This print was designed by Rapture & Wright and inspired by a fragment of decorative glazed pottery from 14th century Syria. The pattern is hand-printed onto soft, bleached linen. It is then used to create a large drum shade with hand-rolled edges, suitable for a table lamp.
Styling Ideas?
A pair of large scale, decorative drum shades can help break up or punctuate the space in a sitting room if placed at either end of a sofa, in a central conversational seating arrangement. Drum shades provide ambient light i.e. mood lighting, as opposed to directional task light. Dot them around a room to add soft, subtle pools of warm light by nightfall.
We can see this lampshade working well with a sofa upholstered in either a soft blue velvet or perhaps a beige or brown neutral linen. The Detail
The patterned lampshade measures 31cm (height) x 41cm (diameter). The same print is also available as smart scatter cushions in a wider range of colour combinations. The cushions come in two different sizes with piped edges and a feather pad.
